Came to US as a Wetback. Married Leander Metoyer on Cane River. He worked on the Railroad as foreman of the Extra Gang. So, he & his family lived in Boxcar for many years traveling & working across Texas & Louisiana. They had two children Josephine & John. They also had a white adopted son, "Joe," That we all called Chummy. Mother was Annie Coutee. Her father was Auguste Metoyer. Love this picture. The story it tells and the history it reflects is profound
